We're looking for a Marketing Lead to define and own how the world understands what we build. Working directly with our founders, you'll set the north star - the messaging, positioning, and narrative that explain Perceptron to the market - and then roll up your sleeves to make it real across every surface. This is a rare chance to own marketing end to end at a company building at the frontier of physical AI.
You'll operate at two altitudes at once: setting the 10,000ft strategic direction for how we tell our story, and executing on it hands-on - shipping the launches, content, and campaigns that bring the vision to life. We're a small team with no marketing function yet, so you won't be inheriting a playbook. You'll be writing it. If you think in narratives, have strong opinions about creative, and get energy from finding unconventional ways to reach a hard-to-reach audience, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Own Messaging & Positioning: Define our north star narrative - what we stand for, how we're different, and why it matters. Build the messaging framework and positioning that everything else flows from, and keep it sharp as the company and category evolve.
- Set Marketing Strategy: Own the strategy across audiences and channels. Decide where we play, how we show up to technical (X, HN, GitHub) versus enterprise (LinkedIn) audiences, and what bets are worth making - then prioritize ruthlessly against them.
- Drive Launches End to End: Lead model and product launches from narrative through execution - shaping the story, producing the creative, and orchestrating the rollout across web, social, and beyond.
- Find New Ways to Reach Our Audience: Think outside the box. Invent creative campaigns, formats, and channels to break through to developers, researchers, and enterprise buyers - not just the obvious ones everyone else is using.
- Build the Content Engine: Turn research, demos, and product work into stories that travel - threads, videos, web pages, launch content - and create the systems and templates that let us move fast without losing quality.
- Own Brand & Voice: Define and protect our voice and visual identity across every surface, ensuring consistency as the team and output scale.
- Read the Market: Track competitors and the broader AI community, and translate what you see into sharper positioning and smarter bets.
- Build the Function: As the first dedicated marketing hire, lay the foundation - tooling, process, and eventually the team - for marketing as Perceptron grows.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in marketing, with a track record of owning positioning, messaging, or brand at a startup, technical company, or fast-moving environment - ideally where you operated as both strategist and operator.
- Demonstrated ability to define a narrative from scratch and translate it into work that ships, not just decks and frameworks.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling, with an instinct for adapting tone across very different audiences.
- Strong creative judgment and comfort directing or producing visual and video content (whether you make it yourself or guide others).
- Genuine fluency with AI - technical enough to explain hard concepts clearly and credibly without overclaiming.
- A bias toward unconventional thinking - you're the person who proposes the idea no one else considered.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership: you can set direction for yourself and others, and you follow through.
